Universal Has Already Started Hiring More Staff For Universal Studios United Kingdom

Universal is already beginning to fill more senior leadership positions for the upcoming United Kingdom park.

A since-deleted job posting from earlier this week was advertising for a ‘Director, Creative Direction – Expat To Bedford, UK’. The senior job posting has since disappeared and looks to have been active for a matter of days in a position that seems to accompany Shelby Honea, the park’s overall Creative Director, and Universal United Kingdom’s first big hire.

In addition, two more job postings have been spotted on Universal Orlando’s Internal Job Portal for two senior production roles – both an Associate Producer – Orlando/Bedford, UK and a Show Producer – Orlando/Bedford, UK are present, as seen in the image below. The jobs were first posted on April 30, with the listing running until May 7.

Both are high-level production roles for the park, with the Show Producer above the Associate Producer in seniority, judging by the job descriptions from Universal’s portal, and are responsible for the ‘development and management of all assigned project-related aesthetic, show and guest-experience elements’. While things are still in the early stages, this is a promising sign that Universal is taking the development of the UK park very seriously.

We already know that Universal has committed to a century’s worth of plans for the Bedford park, with the expectation of planning permission to be submitted in the next two months, and construction to start in 2026 before the park’s slated 2031 opening date.
