Universal Studios United Kingdom Just Got Its First Big Hire

Universal Studios United Kingdom has just got its first big hire, as seasoned theme park veteran Shelby Honea steps into the role of Executive Producer for the project.

In a post on her Linkedin page that has gained hundreds of likes and comments, Honea has stated that she is ‘chuffed’ to be taking the lead on Universal Studios United Kingdom, and thanked Universal’s Chief Creative Officer, Brian Robinson, for entrusting her with the senior position.

It seems as if she and Universal have wasted no time in hiring key folks around her to lead the development of the new park, as a subsequent Linkedin post and Universal Parks job posting shows a listing for a ‘Senior Director, Executive Producer’ in the Universal Creative department.

If the park’s concept art and associated theories are to be believed, then it won’t be the first time that Honea has worked with a potential Jurassic Park attraction. Honea previously led the team behind Jurassic World VelociCoaster that opened in 2021 at Islands of Adventure in Orlando, and has worked at Universal Creative since 2017 in various key creative roles.

Prior to that, Honea worked for Walt Disney Imagineering as an Assistant Producer, where she had key contributions both Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge and Pandora – The World Of Avatar.
